Woodworking craft and inspiration

Daniel completed a City & Guilds advanced diploma in 2008 with distinction for hand-crafted furniture making. In the same year he won first prize for cabinetmaking from the The Worshipful Company of Upholders and was selected to be a licentiate of the Society of Designer Craftsmen.
His work has appeared in prestigious furniture exhibitions, including the Celebration of Craftsmanship & Design in Cheltenham and 21st Century Furniture - The Arts and Crafts Legacy in London.

Universal patterns

Daniel’s passion for the sacred geometry to be found all around us in our local churches, Celtic and Islamic art, and even calligraphy, guides many of his designs.

Chalice Well Garden at Glastonbury, for example, shows the rhythm and symmetry that can be created through repeated geometric designs.

He was so inspired by these principles that he studied them at the Princes School of Traditional Art.

Creating a legacy of craft

With demand for bespoke furniture growing, Daniel plans to expand his team, encouraging other young makers to explore the endless potential of wood as a material for art and design as well as being the ideal material for practical, beautiful furniture.
He looks forward to taking on trainees and working with other skilled cabinetmakers to continue the time-honoured skills into a new form for future generations.
